You’ve probably seen us preach this from the beginning if you’ve been around a while, but we need to continue the message as we grow.

It is vital that you understand and become familiar with all the channels and folders within Discord. This helps us immensely as this organization is crucial in being able to do things like contests, indie publishing announcements, monthly recommendations, and polls.

Here are a few of them that are commonly misunderstood:

• Book Recs are book recommendations in general. These might include books you have read or heard about.
• #month-genre for instance #august-romance is where you enter ONE AND ONLY ONE recommendation for that month’s book club read. (When it’s time to vote, you may vote on one book, and it cannot be your own submission.) If you post your monthly book read recommendation in the Book Recs channel, it will not be entered into the voting poll for that month’s read. It must be in the right month’s recommendation for one book.
• Chitty-Chatter this is where you can talk about anything and everything that doesn’t fall into topics that have their own channel. So, for example, you wouldn’t put your book recs or your recipes here.
• Chapter-Divisions are where you post your chats related to the chapter readings indicated. You do NOT have to follow the dates; they are just guidelines. However, please make sure your discussions are in the right chapter breakouts. Also, be sure to protect your discussions by using the || before and || after to grey out the spoilers. *Those lines are on the button usually under your delete button on your keyboard.
